MISSION PRAYER – A prayer for Safina Orphanage Tanzania.
Dear Lord, as part of our mission outreach, we have been able to send off this week a portion of money to Safina Orphanage to help with secondary education of these young boys and girls. We pray for Mawita as he continues to manage the Orphanage. May the money be used wisely and that through Christian teaching and leadership many of the young people will come to know Jesus as their personal saviour. And also that the education they receive will enable them to find useful employment.
We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Quiet Day at Abbey House, Glastonbury on 8th November, cost £15 to include lunch and refreshments. This will be organised by St. Mary’s, Hutton. Please sign the list if you would like to come.

Skittles Match If you would like to be part of a Locking team please see Adam Wilson. We have been challenged by St. Paul’s and we hope to have a match with Hutton also.

HOPE 08 – do you have a burden to pray for our community, for people to find Jesus and for our community to be changed by the good news? Do you want to pray for revival? We want as many people as possible to come together to pray. If this is on your heart please sign the list in church.

What is Hope 08? You have seen the banner and heard it mentioned – but what is it? Hope 08 is a national initiative which churches in and around West are part of. Firstly we are called to seriously pray for our community and then seek to address the needs of various groups in our community. Hope 08 is not just for one year but for the next 4 years.

Parish Week-end Away – Sidholme 20-22nd February 2009. Information and a list is now out. We would like a £10 deposit to commit you coming by the end of the month please to Helen Weaver or Carolyn Lewis.

Confirmation – Bishop Peter Price, Bishop of Bath and Wells will be with us in Locking on Monday 13th October at 7p.m.to celebrate with us and Confirm those who are wanting to use the opportunity to publicly affirm their faith. If you would like to be Confirmed please let Richard or Anne know. We are running ‘Christianity Explored’. This is a great chance to get to know more about who Jesus is, what he means to us, and will be open to everyone regardless of whether they want to be Confirmed or not, but it will be a good preparation for Confirmation.
